The true broadband dividend is already starting to pay out in Amsterdam, with Fabchannel (which I wrote about here) announcing a deal with V2 Records to allow Fabchannel to sell worldwide the videos of V2 artist concerts shot at Fabchannel venues (an idea partly suggested in my interview with founder Justin Kniest). Equally exciting is the revelation that Fabchannel is to test (on fiber customers) broadcasts using Flash at 5 - 10 Mbps, with Dolby surround sound. No wonder the folks at Glasvezelnet Amsterdam are already talking about a lot of enthusiasm building for the project, and potentially a faster deployment timescale.
UPDATE: I hear that Fabchannel is one of the content sources which has seen interest from the Venice Project.
