Something for the weekend

Plenty for EuroTelcos to ponder over the coming weekend. While the Dutch market will no doubt continue to astound, there is much for others to be paranoid about. Reuters is quoting a spokesman from Viviane Reding's office as saying that Monday is D-Day (or should that be T-Day?) for German broadband. In the UK, not content merely to offer free TV for customers which take its fixed telephony product, NTL/Telewest/Virgin has opened up another front in the free broadband wars: offering 8Mbps DSL free for a year for new customers on Virgin Mobile's SIM-only packages.
